Linchi Kwok

Linchi Kwok (Lingzhi Guo) is an Assistant Professor of Hospitality Management at Syracuse University (SU) in Syracuse, New York, where he developed and taught several hospitality and management courses: Hospitality Human Resource Management, Hotel and Resort Operations, Leadership and Career Management, and Managing Service Organizations in Social Media. In 2011, Linchi was named one of the Kauffman Professors in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at SU to support the university’s initiatives in teaching and research excellence in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Linchi’s research interest includes social media and its business applications, employee recruitment and selection, organizational behaviors, and hospitality management. Recently, Linchi received two grants to support his research on social media and has several publications (including forthcoming papers) in International Journal of Hospitality Management, Event Management, and Journal of Human Resources in Hosptiality & Tourism. Linchi is on the editorial board HOSTEUR™, an official publication of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education, and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for five hospitality and social science journals such as the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly and Journal of Mixed Methods Research.

Linchi holds a Ph.D. degree in Hospitality Administration and a Master of Science degree in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management from Texas Tech University. He is also enrolled in the iMBA program at the Whitman School of Management at SU with a concentration of Organization and Management. Before starting his academic career, Linchi had several years of management and working experience in the hospitality industry in the U.S. and mainland China.
